Safe and Secure Environment

Aurora schools have safe, well-equipped and vibrant environments. Our schools achieve this through the provision of:

  • Secure perimeters to our properties
  • Door entry and surveillance systems
  • All visitors being ‘signed in and out’ and accompanied if necessary
  • All staff being welcoming, professional and wearing appropriate ID badges
  • Safe and supervised areas in which students can both work and play
  • Well qualified and highly efficient site staff and staff teams
  • All staff being DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) and List 100 checked to an ‘Enhanced’ level
  • All staff recruitment following the ‘Safer Recruitment’ process
  • A consistent approach to health & safety and risk management that is carefully monitored
  • All staff being trained regularly in the latest safeguarding procedures
  • Every school having more than one Designated Safeguarding Lead with support provided by the trust
  • Effective partnerships with outside agencies that support student welfare
  • Rigorous and robust attendance tracking systems
  • The provision of support for the mental health and well-being of all students and staff
