  • Parental Involvement

Aurora believes a strong partnership between students, their parents and carers and the school is essential for good personal and educational development. Aurora schools achieve this by:

    • Creating an ethos whereby parents and carers feel valued, respected and well supported
    • Expecting parents and carers to attend and contribute to consultations about their child’s progress
    • Encouraging parents and carers to attend and contribute to regular curriculum events throughout the year
    • Ensuring that communication and support for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and their families, is of the highest quality
    • Ensuring that welfare provision and support is of the highest standard
    • Ensuring arrangements for students joining our schools either before or during the school year, enable them to settle in quickly and confidently
    • Ensuring arrangements for students leaving our schools either before, during or at the end of the school year, enable them to transfer successfully
    • Providing opportunities and encouraging parents and carers to contribute by giving honest and clear feedback to surveys, questionnaires and ‘Parent/Carer Voice’ meetings
    • Ensuring that parents and carers are represented on the Local Academy Board (LAB) of each school
    • Providing families with the knowledge and skills that they need to support their children effectively with their learning at home
    • Providing opportunities for families to further develop their own skills to enable students to be happy, confident and healthy
