Aurora believes that providing effective professional development is paramount for building capacity and increasing the skills of our workforce. It is provided at all levels in the trust through:
- Global Leadership Institute (GLI) – a proven team approach to developing the leadership skills of senior and middle leaders through a carefully planned annual programme
- Regular collaborative meetings and workshops for school leaders
- Bespoke training for trustees and Local Academy Board members enabling effective governance of schools across the trust
- A carefully considered mix of internal, external and online training provided by trust staff and other local and national experts
- Professional networks covering all aspects of school operation. These include for business managers, early years teachers and individual subjects.
- School-based INSET sessions used to drive school improvement with a strong emphasis on the latest research
- Bespoke training for our Early Career Teachers and Recently Qualified Teachers
- A comprehensive and rigorous induction programme for all new members of staff
- Opportunities for staff to take part in international exchange programmes
