Safe and Secure Environment
Aurora schools have safe, well-equipped and vibrant environments. Our schools achieve this through the provision of:
- Secure perimeters to our properties
- Door entry and surveillance systems
- All visitors being ‘signed in and out’ and accompanied if necessary
- All staff being welcoming, professional and wearing appropriate ID badges
- Safe and supervised areas in which students can both work and play
- Well qualified and highly efficient site staff and staff teams
- All staff being DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) and List 100 checked to an ‘Enhanced’ level
- All staff recruitment following the ‘Safer Recruitment’ process
- A consistent approach to health & safety and risk management that is carefully monitored
- All staff being trained regularly in the latest safeguarding procedures
- Every school having more than one Designated Safeguarding Lead with support provided by the trust
- Effective partnerships with outside agencies that support student welfare
- Rigorous and robust attendance tracking systems
- The provision of support for the mental health and well-being of all students and staff
