HEAD OF SCHOOL UPDATE - 10/9/21
Welcome back!
It has been wonderful to welcome back the pupils, parents and staff of Glenleigh Park. The children have settled superbly into their new classes and are following routines and expectations. The atmosphere in school has really demonstrated our school mantra: Good for Me, Good for You and Good for Everyone.
The children have returned looking smart, happy and ready to learn. In addition, we have been very impressed with how smart the children have looked on their PE days, wearing the correct PE kits. Thank you to all parents who have helped this happened.
I must say a special welcome to Mrs Tye who is our new Assistant head teacher and Miss Baker who is our new Year 1 teacher, and not forgetting all the new children who have joined us this year.
Over the summer, lots has happened in the school! Some of the classrooms, and the dining hall, have been freshly painted and have smart new carpets. Our KS1 corridor has a shining new mural, that depicts the learning journeys across the school and the steps have been transformed into times table towers.
Our inset days were packed full of training and preparation time to ensure that we have an exciting purposeful curriculum and environment. We will be continuing to work very hard to ensure that our expectations are high and remain high.
Key Stage 1 parents will have received instructions and resources regarding RWI (Read Write Inc) which will help you to understand how we teach phonics in school and how you can help and support your children at home.
I would like to thank you for your continued support, it is much appreciated.
Have a lovely weekend.
Kind regards,
Mrs Pocock
