HEAD OF SCHOOL UPDATE - 9/7/21
Dear Parents and Carers
Welcome to this week’s update.
It was an absolute delight to welcome back all our reception, year 1 and year 2 children on Tuesday. The classrooms were a hive of activity and the children’s eagerness to learn was excellent. By 9am, all the children were busy with their phonics lessons and immersed in their reading activities.
On Tuesday, during my whole school assembly via Teams link, we recalled the school’s four values (Growth, Perseverance, Positivity, and Achievement). I shared the book ‘Dinosaurs and All That Rubbish’ as it beautifully portrays how important it is that we think about what is good for everyone in our daily lives. Then throughout the week, I have treasured seeing all the children demonstrate these values.
Especially our year 3 children who braved the changeable weather on Wednesday and headed to Bexhill beach. As you can see from the linked photos, the children created pebble towers, collected shoreline items, dipped their toes in the waves, laughed, smiled and had a completely delightful day.
The children told me that they had an awesome time and that they were quite surprised to find such a gigantic crab on the shores of Bexhill. Mr Wheeler and Mr Marchant shared that they could not have been prouder of the children’s behaviour and attitudes, with one passerby commenting on how impressed they were with the children’s behaviour. Well done year 3!
I really hope you have a wonderful weekend.
For those of you watching the football, let’s hope 'It is Coming Home' and that England continue to make us proud.
Best wishes
Mrs Pocock
