HEADS UPDATE 14/12/20
Welcome to my heads update.
On Friday, we celebrated the end of another fantastic week at Glenleigh Park with our Christmas Jumper Day. All the children looked very festive and it was a joy to see them all getting into the Christmas spirit. We were overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of you all for our Food Bank Christmas collection. As you will see from the photograph, a huge amount was donated and we are so pleased that this will be able to help those in need over the Christmas period. Thank you to everyone who has given towards this worthy cause.
We have also been delighted with the sounds of Christmas song, as each year group continues to practise their Christmas songs, ready to be recorded next week. I am so looking forward to being able to share the recordings with you all, as I know many parents/guardians will have missed being able to see the usual Christmas performances.
Our focus last week was on the theme of perseverance, one of Glenleigh Park’s school values. Throughout the challenging times that we are all facing, we have been so impressed with our children who have shown great perseverance and amazing resilience. Each Friday, we celebrate a child in each class by awarding our Golden Trophies. All of our teachers found it very difficult to award the trophies to just one child in their class, as they have all been so fantastic!
Although this is the last week of term and I know everyone is really looking forward to Christmas. I would like to take this opportunity to reassure you that we will still be very much focused on the learning of all our children. Our morning sessions will be dedicated to Maths and English as usual, but we will of course still find time for lots of fun and activities!
Happy Monday.
